Oregano Essential Oil

Oregano essential oil is extracted from the leaves of the Oregano plant (Origanum Vulgare) with a herby, spicy scent, much like the dried cooking herb. Oregano has been used since ancient Greek and Roman times, with uses including culinary and medical purposes. Oregano contains a number of chemical compounds with useful properties including Carvacrol (antioxidant and anti-bacterial properties), Thymol (anti-fungal) and Rosmarinic acid (antioxidant).

Oregano essential oil can be used to replace the dried herb but also has many other uses. A few drops of Oregano essential oil can be added to water to create a homemade cleaning solution. For some extra fragrance, why not add one of our citrus essential oils? Oregano essential oil can also be added to a diffuser to add a spicy note to your day. Oregano essential oil should always be used with caution as it is highly potent.
